This wall bracket is a very elaborate design from the Neo-Gothic period as an extension to the chandelier.
On the arms it bears the typical crude floral ornaments. This crudeness is then countered by a shiny gold finish which gives the fixture a festive expression. The back-plate is a wonderfully elaborated brass cast mounted on a wooden plate. This plate can be lacquered in any colour though white is the most common.
Fixtures of this style can be found in many churches in Austria or Germany but also in castles and palaces of rural design.
