This wall sconce bears two arms protruding from a joint position on the back plate. The plate is highly decorated with celestial and bestial ornaments in a kings gold finish. In contrast with the sombre colouring of the other metal parts this gives it an elegant allure.
The arms are cast to resemble female fairies, a tribute to the Classic period which was typical for this epoch.
With so many individually cast parts the better part of manufacturing is the cleansing of the raw cast from the mould residue and flash. Some techniques do not yield these but also loose a lot of detail.
