This floor lamp is a typical example of the simplistic elegance of the Biedermeier period.
The column is made from octagonal faceted brass. The bottom part features the same facets, then only leveled out over the whole of the plate. Delicate horizontal cuts give the base a nice edge.
The surface is expertly polished and then darkened to give it an antique touch.
In the period usually skin shades were used, accented with velvet matching the major colour of the room tough also more modern shades can be used with this lamp.
