This likable boar may have roamed the Eifel, the Bavarian Forest and the Black Forest, but as the inscription on the porcelain plaque reveals, it has been set in Le Thoronet in the south of France, amid thyme bushes and tall oaks. The wild boar has figured among the porcelain manufactory’s Big Five group since 2007. Its face, newly presented on dark ebony, is drawn from the rich repertoire of animal figures created by Luise Terletzki Schwerf for the manufactory’s master workshops in the 60s and 70s.
